The primary goals of the EcMLST project are:
§ Collect, curate, annotate MLST data of pathogenic E. coli.
§ Develop algorithms and tools for data analysis.
§ Make the data and tools available to the scientific community as a user friendly, accurate typing system for the characterisation of pathogenic E. coli isolates.
The current version of EcMLST includes:
§ The MLST database, which stores sequences and allele profiles for the E. coli isolates.
§ The RFLP database, which stores the in silico RFLP analysis of all MLST allele sequences by >500 different restriction enzymes.
§ Data analysis and sequence editing tools.
EcMLST is linked to the isolate database of the STEC center, which collects microbiology and epidemiology data of over 2000 E. coli isolates
MLST typing information can be access using isolate information, sequence data and RFLP data of the 15 genes. |
